Natural surroundings
Pollença has a privileged geographic location for nature lovers; hikers will find a great number of choices through is landscapes.
The area has rich botanic native species: the oak, wild olive trees, bush, rockroses and palm trees called garbelló (the only type of European palm tree), and there is even an endemic plant, the Nàufraga Baleàrica that grows in an area near the Cala Sant Vicenç mountain range. The ornithologists will also be able to enjoy the fisher eagle, which is found in the Albufereta (a natural reserve of 295 hectares through which the Font de Mal Any and the Rec torrents go), and other species like the black vulture (known as voltor) and the hawk.
