Pollen?a has a privileged geographic location for nature lovers; hikers will find a great number of choices through is landscapes.
The area has rich botanic native species that are manifested through different vegetal communities that go from the holmoak to the most extense areas of wild olive trees, bush, rockroses and palm trees called “garbelló” (the only type of European palm tree), and there is even an endemic plant, the Naufraga Baleàrica that grows in an area near the Cala Sant Vicenç mountain range. The ornithologists will also be able to enjoy the “fisher eagle”, wich is found in the Albufereta – natural reserve of 295 hectares through wich the “Font de Mal Any” and “El Rec” torrents go – and other species like the black vulture (known as “voltor”) and the hawk.
